BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham is monitoring wintery conditions and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is monitoring roadways.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until Thursday, at 6 a.m. for Marion, Lamar and Winston Counties. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until Thursday, at 3 a.m. for the counties of Fayette, Walker and Pickens.
ALEA released the following information on roadways in west Alabama counties.
QUAD CITIES
Colbert County EMA has deemed all county roads impassable. All state and federal roads have icy spots. Woodmont Drive in Colbert County is closed due to icy roads.
Franklin County EMA has deemed all roads in the county impassable. All state and federal roads have icy spots.
Lauderdale County roads have icy conditions with stalled vehicles. EMA has deemed them impassable.
Lawrence County roads are impassable and state roads have icy spots.
HAMILTON
Interstate 22 currently has improved conditions.
Lamar County roads have icy roadway conditions.
Fayette County roads have icy roadway conditions.
Marion County roads have icy roadway conditions.
Walker County roads have icy conditions.
Winston County roads have icy conditions.
