CENTER POINT — UPDATE: According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Watkins has been found safe and healthy. He is with his family. JCSO expressed appreciation to the public for their assistance in locating Mr. Watkins.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing 77-year-old man in Center Point.
Ronald Watkins was reported missing Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021. Deputies began the search in the Hillview Lane area around 5:45 p.m.
Watkins is around 6 feet tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and salt-and-pepper hair. He was last seen wearing a sky blue jacket, navy blue pants, black shoes, glasses and possibly an orange Auburn ballcap. Watkins is an Alzheimer’s patient.
The county deployed its Star One helicopter and K9 deputies for the search. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is assisting.
