JEFFERSON COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash has claimed the lives of two people in Jefferson County.
Authorities say the pair was killed when their vehicle overturned while traveling on Interstate 59 near mile marker 118. The accident occurred at around 12:50 p.m. on Saturday when two vehicles sideswiped and lost control.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the two people inside the vehicle that overturned were thrown from the car, and died from their injuries.
Two other occupants were transported to UAB Hospital with unknown injuries. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.
