DORA — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting.
On Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, one person was killed and two officers were hurt during the incident. The officers were taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Cpt. Jason Peek, with ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) said once findings of the investigation are complete, they will be turned over to the Walker County District Attorney’s Office.
The shooting happened one day after another officer-involved shooting in Walker County. On Friday, Frederick Earl Height II, 26, was shot by a Walker County deputy while the deputy was responding to a domestic violence call at a home in the Empire community. That shooting is also under investigation by ALEA.
