LEEDS — The Leeds Police Department and Leeds Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of a pedestrian hit by a train on Monday, March 1, 2021.
Fire Chief Chuck Parsons said a woman was killed when she was hit by the Norfolk Southern freight train. The incident happened in the 8200 block of Edwards Avenue, according to Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates.
Authorities said the woman was walking on the tracks when she was hit. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The woman’s identity has not been released. The Leeds Police Department is investigating.
