It was a busy Saturday for a few local softball teams, as Hewitt-Trussville, Springville and Pinson Valley suited up for multiple games.

Hewitt Round Robin
The Hewitt-Trussville softball team went 4-1 this weekend in the Hewitt Round Robin, pulling wins over Haleyville (15-0), Hoover (8-5), Athens (8-2) and Mortimer Jordan (12-4).
For the Huskies (12-1), Jenna Lord collected 11 hits, 10 RBIs and three home runs over the weekend. Kenleigh Cahalan went for 11 hits and six RBIs, Hannah Dorsett added nine hits and Crystal Maze scattered eight hits, seven RBIs and a pair of home runs.
However, the tournament outing included Hewitt-Trussville’s first loss of the year: a 6-3 defeat at the hands of Helena.
Pleasant Valley 11, Pinson Valley 1
Glencoe 11, Pinson Valley 9
The Pinson Valley girls lost two games on Saturday, sliping their record to 3-5 on the year.
In an 11-9 loss to Glencoe, Indians’ pitcher McKenzie Cagle homered and drove in three runs on two hits. Caitlin Buford finished with three hits, one RBI and two runs scored in the close loss.
Springville Tournament
The Springville softball team won three of its four games on Saturday, beating Rehobeth (4-1), Spanish Fort (4-1) and Benjamin Russell (11-6). The Tigers (8-4) ended their day with a 2-0 loss to Tallassee.
Springville duo Karli Davidson and Tatum Bartlett led the offense with four hits and five RBIs apiece on Saturday.
