HOOVER — The Hoover Police Department is investigating a possible murder-suicide that happened on Thursday, March 11, 2021.
The Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office said Robert Scott Montana, 53, and Holly Elizabeth Montana, 51, were identified as the two killed.
Police were first dispatched to a location in the 1500 block of Fairway View Drive, at 5:10 p.m. They found Robert Montana suffering from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Additional units went to a home in the 4500 block of Highland Crest Circle, to do a welfare check on the man’s wife. That’s when they found Holly Montana, who had also been shot.
“Both investigations are in the early stages, but evidence suggests that they are connected,” police said in a statement.
Coroner Bill Yates determined Holly Montana was shot the night before.
