TRUSSVILLE — Tractor Supply Company (TSC), the nation’s largest operator of rural lifestyle retail stores, is opening a new location in Trussville.
The store will go into part of the former location of Kmart, in the Trussville Shopping Center, off Chalkville Mountain Road. Mayor Buddy Choat said TSC will be in the gardening side of the location. Ollie’s will be another store at the location and a third spot will also be available in the large building.
The spot has been vacant for years as city leaders and Aronov, the company that manages the shopping center, have been hoping for a tenant. Aronov has been in talks about remodeling the center but no plans have been released.
TSC has over 1,800 stores, including Moody, Gardendale and Chelsea. The stores supply basic maintenance products for homes, land, pets and animal owners. Products include clothing, equine and pet supplies, tractor/trailer parts and accessories, lawn and garden supplies, sprinkler/irrigation parts, power tools, fencing, welding and pump supplies, riding mowers and more.
The Trussville store is expected to open in late June 2021.
The old Kmart will be split into three businesses and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet will also operate out of the building. A third possible business for the old Kmart is Crunch Fitness. The company has been in discussions about moving into the spot.
