CHEROKEE COUNTY — A Cedar Bluff man has been killed in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday, March 25.
The identity of the victim has not been released as next of kin is notified.
Authorities say the driver was fatally injured when the 2014 Chevy Spark he was driving hydroplaned into the opposite lane of travel and was struck by a 2021 Freightliner tractor-trailer. The crash occurred on Alabama 9 near Cherokee County 51, approximately seven miles east of Cedar Bluff.
The driver of the Chevy was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the passenger was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Nothing further is available as the Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
