BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner/Medical examiner’s office confirmed a man was killed at Barber Motorsports Park over the weekend.
Uary Lopes Souza, 39, of Acworth, Georgia, was killed in a crash on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
Souza was participating in a Sportbike track event when his motorcycle collided with another motorcycle. Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates said Souza died of blunt force trauma. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:30 p.m.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating.
