TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville-born business is branching off to the city of Homewood. Meals by Misty, a homecooked meal service, opened a location at 2900 Crescent Avenue.
The specialty shop specializes in take-home southern-style casseroles, sides, salads, appetizers, dips and treats. Owner Misty Westover said she used to work in Homewood and at that time, there was a catering business there. That business recently closed and she realized an opportunity.
“I noticed that the building was empty so I grabbed it,” Westover said.
Meals by Misty is partnering with rolls, in Homewood.
“The Cinnamon Roll Girl, her name is Katie, with rolls. Homewood, we became friends and together we talked about maybe opening a store together somewhere. So, when that building in Homewood came open, we snagged it.”
Westover said it is the success of the Trussville location that inspired her to open a new location.
“If I didn’t have such great success in Trussville, if I hadn’t met so many new friends here and if I hadn’t been hearing about how many people have been driving from all over the place to get food from here, that’s what sparked this whole idea in the first place,” Westover added.
The Trussville location is also going under renovations in order to make more room in the lobby and the coolers.
Hours at the Homewood location are the same as the Trussville location. The first official day of business will be Thursday, April 1, 2021. The menu is also the same. Hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
