BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding the family of a man found on April 6, 2021.
Birmingham Police were called to investigate skeletonized remains inside a vacant residence at 1438 Eufaula Avenue, in the Bush Hills communnity.
Coroner Bill Yates said a nearby resident reported that a homeless man, known by the nickname “Jerry Wayne” was known to sit on the front porch of the home, but that he had not been seen in months.
The man was wearing a gray sweatshirt with a black horizontal stripe and dark-colored pants. He is estimated to be around 50-70 years and stood around 5 feet, 5 inches tall.
