BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department reports an arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a Birmingham man on March 19, 2021 at the Roebuck Plaza Shopping Center.
Lazonathan Rhodes was murdered that afternoon in the Roebuck Plaza parking lot, which is located at 9120 Parkway East. The suspect has been identified by Birmingham police as Ja’Marcus Jordan, 18, of Hueytown.
According to BPD, Jordan was arrested at a residence in McCalla on April 16 during the execution of a search warrant. He was then transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Jordan is being held on a $250,000 bond.
During the search warrant five guns were seized along with narcotics which has prompted further investigation, according to police.
