BIRMINGHAM — One person is in critical condition at UAB Hospital after a shooting on Parkway East in Birmingham.
According to a report from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to UAB Hospital at approximately 2:30 a.m. Monday on reports of a person who had been shot. Police say the victim had arrived in a personal vehicle and was in critical condition.
After speaking with a witness, deputies were able to determine that the shooting had occurred in the 1100 block of Parkway East in the city of Birmingham. Early reports indicate that the victim and a friend left the Bama Gas Station shortly after midnight. Police believe the victim may have exchanged words with an individual before leaving the convenience store.
The JCSO report says the victim and his friend left the store and were traveling on Parkway East in Birmingham when shots were fired at their vehicle, injuring the male victim.
