ATHENS, Ala. — Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are investigating a fatal crash that involved a driver not wearing her seatbelt.
Ashley Christine Cole Renfroe, 33, of Madison, was killed on Alabama 251, 14 miles north of Athens, when her 2003 Chevy Trailblazer left the roadway, hit a tree and overturned. Renfroe was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash happened on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 12:56 p.m. No other vehicles were involved.
