TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville couple is opening a new sign shop and their vision is one of innovation for the city.
Amie and Andrew McCullough are the owners of Cahaba Design Co. They will open a new location in downtown Trussville in May.
Andrew grew up in Trussville and graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School. The two met while in college in Texas and decided to eventually make Trussville their home. Amie went to school for graphic design and has been in the business since.
Aime McCullough has been working from home but recently saw a need in the city. When a new spot opened, she took the opportunity. Not only are they opening a brick-and-mortar, but they are also upgrading their equipment.
“I’m excited,” said McCullough. “We are going to try our hardest to please everyone. We have had some longtime customers in the area like Courtesy Buick GMC, Trussville Gas and Water, and a lot of people have worked with us for many years. So, we are just going to move it up a notch and reach out to even more people.”
Cahaba Design Co. makes large signs, banners, promotional items, business cards, logos, custom invitations and more. McCullough said her designs are unique and of a professional grade.
“We want to be more like your hip and modern sign shop,” said McCullough. “We don’t want to sell your just generic type thing. We are more updated. We care more about the design and the branding and making businesses look good and professional than we do just getting paid and sending them out the door.”
Cahaba Design Co. also appreciates the atmosphere the city of Trussville has created. They work with the city’s Design Review Committee to ensure that what they sell will fit into the vision for each area in Trussville.
“We specialize in branding,” said McCullough. “We want to make Trussville look nice. We are proud of where it’s going and we want to be a part of that.”
The company has also worked with the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce.
The new shop is located at 111 North Chalkville Road, Trussville. A grand opening celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 5, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. and Food Integrated Training, Inc. will be catering the event. Puttin’ On the Ritz DJ Service will also be providing music and lights for the celebration.
