IRONDALE — Irondale Police have identified the suspect in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man at an apartment complex.
Allen Armer is charged with murder in the death of Dewarren Lovell Gibson.
Gibson, 21, was shot just before 4 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 4400 Hunter Ridge Way. He was found in the breezeway at the complex and taken to UAB Hospital where he died the next day.
Investigators said the victim told police that a man in all black clothing with a black ski mask tried to rob him of his cell phone. After speaking to witnesses, detectives identified a person of interest and took him into custody for questioning. During questioning, they discovered the victim and the suspect knew each other. It is believed the shooting was domestic in nature.
