BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified a man shot and killed in east Jefferson County on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Jermaine James Kidd, 24, of Fultondale, was pronounced dead on the scene in the 700 block of Haversham Circle. The location is in unincorporated Jefferson County, near the city limits of Birmingham, Center Point and Pinson.
Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were first called to the location, around 1:30 p.m., in regards to a woman who said she was threatened and assaulted by a man. The man had already left the scene. As deputies were searching for him, they received a second call, around 3 p.m., stating the man had been come back to the location and was shot by another man on the scene.
The shooter was later located by Birmingham Police in the Norwood Community. He was taken into custody and is being questioned by Sheriff’s Office detectives.
