POWELL, Ala. — Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
Rodney McCutchen, 61, of Fyffe, crashed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 6:45 p.m. Investigators said the motorcycle left the roadway, struck a driveway, and became airborne.
The crash occurred on Dekalb County 47 near Dekalb County 94, approximately three miles south of Powell.
McCutchen was pronounced dead on the scene.
The family has made funeral arrangements at the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. McCutcheon’s viewing will on Friday, May 15 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, May 16, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral will follow the Saturday viewing.
