BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death of a 17-year-old from Pleasant Grove.
James Williams was shot at 2737 Jefferson Avenue on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, around 10 p.m.
Detectives believe Williams was visiting a friend at the location when someone fired shots from a vehicle. Williams was taken to UAB Hospital with a gunshot wound to the torso. Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates said Williams was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:47 p.m.
