LEEDS — Motorists should expect delays on Interstate 20 westbound in the Leeds area this week.
According to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) the right or left lanes of Interstate 20 westbound will close in Jefferson and St. Clair Counties for milling and paving work between just east of the Brompton exit (Milepost 148) and the Leeds exit (Milepost 140).
The construction is expected to begin at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 16. ALDOT says ravel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 5 a.m. (middle lane) and 6 a.m. (outside or inside lane) on Monday, May 17.
Those same lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (middle lane) and 6 a.m. (outside or inside lane) from Monday, May 17 through Saturday, May 22.
Motorists are encouraged to adjust arrival/departure times or consider using alternative routes.
