LEEDS — The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce announced the 2021 Creek Bank Festival was a success, drawing in record vendors and crowds.
The festival, on Saturday, May 15, was held at Leeds Memorial Park. Festivities included some extremely talented stage entertainers with live music from Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter, Michael Jacobs and Birmingham Based Singer/Songwriter, Erica Ryleigh, Singer/Songwriter Miss Leeds Area Charity Bowden and The Wingnuts who provided vintage rock and roll.
Over 125 vendors set up shop and welcomed buyers of homemade goods, food and arts and crafts.
“People hung out all day long this year for the stage entertainment, said Sandra McGuire, Executive Director for Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce. “This is one of the best line-ups we’ve had at Creek Bank and our festival drew record numbers this year of vendors and attendees from all over the region. We had vendors travel from all over the southeast to participate this year.”
There were children’s activities including hula hoop contests, balloon artist, face painting, and a Moon Pie eating contest. The dogs had their time to shine as well with the Creek Bark dog pageant. Nearly 25 dogs participated.
In conjunction with the Creek Bank Festival, the 5th Annual Cruising the Creek Bank Car Show hosted by C & C Motor Company also drew record crowds with approximately 310 cars participating. $6,400 was raised from the charity car show. Christy McCombs of C & C Motor Company shared, “It was a great show and we would like to thank everyone who brought out their cars, our friends, family and DJ, Ronnie Foster. We will present checks to our charities, Leeds Outreach and Backpack Buddies, in the next few days.”
The weather was also perfect for the 26th year of the festival.
“I think everyone was just ready to get outside and have some fun,” McGuire added. “The weather was magnificent, we had a great festival planned and people came out to enjoy. We would like to send a huge thank you to all of our vendors, volunteers, sponsors and city workers. We could not do what we do without each one!”
