BIRMINGHAM — Police have provided an update to a double homicide that took place on Sunday morning at Brother Bryan Park in Birmingham.
Through a press release from the Birmingham Police Department, the victims have been identified as 34-year-old Birmingham man Brian Anthony Adkins and 35-year-old Birmingham woman Courtney Jan Ashley.
The two were shot following a verbal altercation with a suspect while walking a dog on Sunday morning at the Birmingham park. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates the victims were approached by a male and an altercation ensued.
BPD says investigators have established the suspect and the female victim (Ashley) were acquaintances in a dating relationship. The suspect fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.
No arrest has been reported.
