TRUSSVILLE — After being closed for over seven months, Regal 16 reopened in Trussville.
The theater opened its doors for the first time since Oct. 8, 2020, on Friday, May 21, 2021.
Regal’s parent company, Cineworld, suspended operations nationwide in the fall, putting approximately 40,000 workers out of a job. The decision was made after the company explored all of its options on how to operate safely during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Trussville theater came back in full force with regular showtimes and offering 13 movies, including Scoob!, Spiral: Saw, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Mortal Combat, and Godzilla vs. Kong.
Workers at the location said they are happy to be back to work after a long break.
Face masks are optional.
