JEMISON — The Jemison Police Chief confirmed one man was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting on Monday, May 31, 2021.
The officers were dispatched to a home on Chilton County Road 954, around 11:30 a.m., after receiving a call about a man with a gun who was threatening to shoot two others in the front yard.
“Before officers arrived on the scene and according to witnesses, the subject had already fired multiple shots,” said Chief Shane Fulmer.
When officers arrived, Fulmer said the shooter turned his attention to one of the officers and shots were exchanged between the two. The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. The officer was not hurt.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified the man killed as Roger Dale Keller, 71.
