Charles “Charlie” Jackson, age 78, of Trussville, AL passed away on June 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was a native of McCalla and a graduate of McAdory High School. He graduated from UAB and served as a firefighter for over 28 years and retired as a Captain in 1994 from Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service. He served as Vice President for the Birmingham Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 117.
Charles was a part of the Men on Missions ministry and a member of the choir with First Baptist Church of Trussville. He was a skilled clock and watchmaker for over 50 years. He enjoyed working on British cars and traveling while selling software.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen; his children, Shawn Jackson (Heidi), Reid Jackson and Carlee Jackson; grandchildren, Monica McChesney (Clifton), Meleah Jackson; one sister, Dot Rosser; three brothers, Preston Jackson (Ann), Johnny Jackson (Gail) and Robert Jackson (Martha); numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Charles’s life will take place at First Baptist Church in Trussville at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 11th. The family will gather with friends two hours prior to the service.
