UPDATE: The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal Wednesday-morning accident on Lakeshore Parkway as 41-year-old Tiffany Denise Pritchett, of Birmingham.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates says Pritchett was walking along the shoulder of the roadway when she was struck by a white Ford Taurus at around 11:21 a.m. Wednesday. The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
EARLIER:
BIRMINGHAM — A woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle on Lakeshore Parkway Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, the pedestrian was hit shortly before noon on June 9 in the 500 block of Lakeshore Parkway.
Officers said the woman was taken to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released.
Police continue to investigate the cause and circumstances surrounding the collision.
