TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce released dates for events for the summer of 2021.
The first free movie event of the season will be Friday, June 18, at the historic Trussville Mall near Cahaba Elementary. Movie on the Mall will begin at 6 p.m. with vendor booths and giveaways by sponsors, games for the kids, and food trucks. The evening’s feature movie, Tom & Jerry, will begin at dusk.
A free double-feature event at the Trussville Entertainment District on Sunday, July 18, will serve double-duty as the kickoff for Trussville Restaurant Week. Movies at the TED will start with a 5 p.m. showing of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs followed by Ratatouille at 7 p.m.
Trussville Restaurant Week 2021 will be a two-week celebration of local restaurants featuring a repeat of last year’s popular Restaurant Bingo game. This year’s version of the Bingo cards will be introduced at “Movies at the TED,” so anyone hoping for an early start filling those spaces will want to be there.
Capping off the summer, Trussville City Fest will take place Saturday, September 11. The festivities will begin on a somber note with a 20th-anniversary observance of the September 11, 2001, attacks on America at the Veteran’s Memorial at 9 a.m.
The day will continue with kids’ activities, booth vendors, and food trucks, along with entertainment at the festival site and the Trussville Entertainment District. Activities showcasing downtown businesses will take place up and down Main Street.
