TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville pitcher Riley Quick has been selected to Alabama’s most elite list following an outstanding season.
The junior on Sunday was announced as one of 10 players named to the 2021 Super All-State Baseball Team, presented by the Alabama Sports Writers Association. The roster includes the top 10 high school players in the state, regardless of classification.
Quick has also been chosen as a first-team member of the Class 7A All-State Team and has earned the title of 7A Pitcher of the Year. The 6-foot-5 righty posted a record of 9-2 for the No. 1-ranked Huskies last season while striking out 116 batters in 70.2 innings pitched.
This year’s Mr. Baseball is Maddux Bruns, of UMS-Wright. The Mississippi State signee surrendered 13 hits on the year while working a 7-0 record in 49 innings pitched.
