LEEDS — More road work is scheduled for a section of Interstate 20 in the Leeds area this week.
Beginning at 7 p.m., Sunday, June 20, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will close the right or left lanes of Interstate 20 westbound for paving work between just east of the Brompton exit (Milepost 148) and the Leeds exit (Milepost 140).
Travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 5 a.m. (middle lane) and 6 a.m. (outside or inside lane) on Monday, June 21, according to ALDOT.
These same lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (middle lane) and 6 a.m. (outside or inside lane) from Monday, June 21 through Saturday, June 26.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
