BESSEMER — The Bessemer Police Department arrested a man in connection to a stabbing and carjacking that happened in the Walmart parking lot around 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.
“The victim courageously stood her ground and did not give in to the suspect’s demands to give up her purse,” police said in a statement.
The victim’s name and age were not released but she was taken to UAB West and is expected to be okay.
As for the person responsible, he was found in the area after investigators received information and security camera footage. He was arrested for robbery first-degree and assault first-degree.
His identity has not been released, pending formal charges.
