CENTER POINT – Center Point High School recently held a scholarship signing ceremony for seven student-athletes.

Center Point High School recently saw seven student-athletes sign scholarships, including Ambria James, Nickia McCary, Brandy Jamfi, Kiyla Calvin, Rodricus Brown, Kenyon Anthony and Desomond Gaines.
All seven signees represent the Eagles’ track and field program, which has emerged as a contender in Class 5A play.
The Class of 2021 signees include the following:
- Ambria James, Miles College
- Nickia McCary, Miles College
- Brandy Jamfi, Miles College
- Kiyla Calvin, Miles College
- Rodricus Brown, Meridian Community College
- Kenyon Anthony, Meridian Community College
- Desomond Gaines, Talladega College
Along with the seven letters of intent, Center Point’s senior class has built a tradition of winning during its tenure at CPHS.
“The Class of 2021 has been a vital part of seven Jefferson County championship winning teams, four 5A outdoor track and field sectional runner-up championships, a state championship final four finish, three individual state champions, countless state championship medal performances, and seven scholarship recipients,” said Center Point track and field coach Preston Wilson.
