BIRMINGHAM — Chick-fil-A’s first-ever Alabama location is closing shop after 47 years.
According to a social media post, the Brookwood Village restaurant will close on July 31, 2021, adding to a long list of tenants (Cocina Superior, Books-A-Million, Jason’s Deli) that have left the mall in recent months. The mall’s Chick-fil-A opened its doors in 1974.
Owner and operator Jerry Cotney says the restaurant will open a new location in Cahaba Heights this October.
Chick-fil-A Brookwood recently announced the update via Instagram: “We are closing at Brookwood, but look forward to serving you in our new location in Cahaba Heights this October! Thank you for your support!”
