TRUSSVILLE – Two months after beating Fairhope in the Class 7A state championship game, the Hewitt-Trussville softball team has announced another college commitment.
On Tuesday, the team’s Twitter account posted that Class of 2022 righty Sarah Hindman has chosen Northeast Mississippi Community College as her next stop.
Hindman will be a senior on head coach Taylor Burt’s roster next season. As last year’s team leader in innings pitched (84.2), she brings tremendous experience to the circle.
Hindman threw 15 starts for the Huskies in 2021 and finished with a 15-1 record while adding two saves. Her final start came in a 5-4 win over Baker in the state tournament. She struck out four batters in five innings worked that morning in Oxford.
Hindman closed out her junior season with 52 strikeouts and a 2.563 ERA. She will team up with All-Tribune sophomore Sara Phillips next year in the Hewitt-Trussville pitching staff as the team pursues a third straight state title.
