TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City School system will continue to wait for guidance from Jefferson County Health Officer Dr. Mark Wilson before establishing a reopening plan for schools.
The original thought was that the school system would have a reopening plan in place by Aug. 2. Now, TCS said it will have to wait until Aug. 3 to release a plan.
“This coming Tuesday, August 3, the top health officer for Jefferson County meets with all area Superintendents to discuss health considerations for the reopening of schools,” TCS said in this week’s ‘In the Loop’. “It will be on that day where we hope to have answers to the critical questions you have regarding sending your children back to our campuses for the start of the 2021-2022 School Year.”
Wilson will meet with superintendents from all over the county on Tuesday. TCS said it hopes to have details available by the end of that day.
As for now, TCS recommends masking and social distancing but will not require masking.
