BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham detectives are seeking a suspect for the shooting death early Sunday morning, August 8, 2021.
Police responded to a report of a person shot at the Empire Gentleman’s Club at 100 3rd Avenue North shortly after 6 a.m. By the time officers responded, they learned that Birmingham Fire and Rescue had transported the victim to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
“The preliminary investigation suggest the victim and an unknown suspect were involved in a verbal argument at the location when the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the victim ultimately striking him,” BPD officer Truman Fitzgerald stated in a press release. “The suspect then fled the scene.”
