OXFORD — A man in east Alabama is thankful to be alive after an incident at Hooligans Harley Davidson, on Saturday, Aug. 14.
Around 2:50 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the location on Davis Loop, in reference to a man stuck on a lift. The man had made contact with power lines and the lift caught fire.
The lift was 25 feet off the ground and there was no way for the man to get down until power could be turned off. However, the fire made it necessary for the man to come down.
So, firefighters made a makeshift life-safety net out of a tent and the man jumped to safety. The man did have to be airlifted to UAB with a leg injury in smoke inhalation. There is no word on his condition.
