CENTER POINT — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a woman Sunday after a terrifying incident in Center Point.
Lisa Jacole Grayson, 27, of Birmingham, is charged with six counts of attempted murder, one count of arson first-degree and criminal mischief first-degree.
Deputies were first called to the Parkway Villa Apartments around 9:30 a.m. after they received a call about a woman vandalizing a car in the parking lot.
While on the scene, deputies were told that Grayson had gotten into an argument with a man at the apartment and attacked him with a butcher knife. Deputies said when Grayson’s roommate questioned her about it, she tried to stab the roommate.
“Grayson then went to the parking lot and destroyed the male victim’s car with a cinder block,” said Sgt. Joni Money. “She then went back to her apartment, where her roommate and her roommate’s three children were. She poured lighter fluid and cooking oil throughout the apartment and set fire to it.”
Everyone inside the apartment was able to get out and one of the occupants had to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Deputies later learned that the male stabbing victim was taken to a hospital by a personal vehicle.
Grayson was booked into the Jefferson County Jail where she was being held on bonds totaling $435,000.00.
