Planned Lane Closures on AL-3/US 31 in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY — Beginning at 8 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, September 13, the Alabama Department of Transportation will begin Emergency Drainage Repairs on AL-3/ US 31/ 26^th St. N at the 35^th Avenue Intersection in North Birmingham from Milepost 277.56 to 277.73.

This work will require the northbound inside lane, southbound inside lane, and also the middle turn lane to be closed to traffic from 34^th Avenue to 36^th Avenue.

All travel lanes are expected to reopen at approximately 3 p.m. if no repair operation incidents arise.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
