BIRMINGHAM — Another sliver of good news on the COVID-19 front dropped on Monday, September 20, 2021.
Children’s of Alabama reported that there are currently no COVID patients on a ventilator at the hospital. While 25 minors are still hospitalized with coronavirus infections at the hospital, this follows the news that the hospitalization rate for the virus has fallen statewide.
In all, Covid-19 driven hospitalizations in Alabama have fallen 31% from the Sept. 1 peak of 2,890, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health. However, the virus continues to be dangerous. ADPH reports that there were 628 deaths reported in the state over a 10 day period from September 7-17.
Information released by AHA on Sept. 19 showed that 1,983 people are currently hospitalized in an Alabama hospital for Covid related issues. That’s a decrease of 907 since the peak hospitalizations at the beginning of the month.The Alabama Hospital Association noted that five hospitals had not yet reported for the data released Sunday, Sept. 19.
