TRUSSVILLE — Amerex Corporation earned top recognition for Outstanding National Firm – Medium at the Executive Women International (EWI) Leadership Conference & Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, NM, on Friday, September 17.
With more than 1,000 member companies throughout the United States and Canada, EWI was founded in 1938 as an organization of women that focuses on careers, connections, and communities. The mission of this leadership group is to promote personal and professional development and encourage community involvement.
“Each year, EWI presents the outstanding member firm award to a small, medium, large and non-profit member company,” Corporate President Christine Healy said. “It was our privilege to recognize Amerex this year for their leadership commitment to EWI and their philanthropic reach in their community.”
Active in EWI since 2007, Amerex has been supportive of their representatives’ participation in board service, hosted chapter and board meetings, and contributed financially. Amerex representatives include Linda Cordor, as EWI President in 2012, Gidget Yeager as 2020-2022 Program Director, and Jacy Whitaker, incoming Ways & Means Director for 2021- 2022. In addition, Amerex’s philanthropy reaches many corners of the Birmingham/Trussville community, ranging from fire extinguisher donations to local fire departments, monetary donations to non-profits, backpacks, and school supplies for the Girls & Boys Club, to a reading rally and books for a local school.
“It is a privilege to be a member of EWI representing Amerex,” Cordor said. “I credit this honor to the entire Amerex team who is committed to the work of EWI and supports us in our involvement with the organization.”
“The women leaders at Amerex have a great impact on our business, industry, and community,” Harrison Bishop, Executive Vice President of the McWane Fabricated Metals Group and President of Amerex, said. “Our shared values with EWI make our involvement with the organization a natural fit, and we are honored to receive this national recognition.”
