BIRMINGHAM — A man in the Pratt City neighborhood was shot dead Saturday afternoon.
Joshua Rogers, 26, was found shot and unresponsive beside a vehicle that had been struck by several bullets, according to Birmingham police.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rogers was found around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, at an apartment complex on Dugan Avenue.
Authorities report that a juvenile “person of interest” has been detained.
This was the second deadly incident investigated by police in 24 hours for Birmingham, as 61-year-old Marion Reynolds was found unresponsive in the middle of the street on the 3900 block of Mineral Avenue around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Authorities also announced Friday that 28-year-old Ashley Canty, shot a week prior on the 2800 block of Norwood Avenue, had died from her wounds.
