BIRMINGHAM — An unidentified man was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a freight train in the western part of Birmingham on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
This is the second train crossing death this week in Jefferson County. On September 26, a 64-year-old man was struck at the 1900 block of Vanderbilt Road and killed.
In that incident, Russell identified the victim as Ronald Baskett, who was struck by a freight train at 4:20 a.m. He was pronounced dead at 4:39 a.m.
The Birmingham Police Department continues to investigate both incidents.
