BESSEMER — Jefferson County Coroner’s office has identified a Bessemer man who was found dead in his home around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5
According to the Coroner’s report, Jonathan Wayne Jones, 48, was found by relatives in his home on the 400 block of Hillside Avenue. When deputies arrived on the scene, they observed Jones suffering from several gunshot wounds that may have occurred during an apparent struggle.
The death is being investigated as a homicide; therefore, all questions regarding the circumstances surrounding the death should be made to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
