BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the Birmingham man found unresponsive during a house fire on Tuesday, October 19, around 11:30 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, James Bryant, Jr., 76, was found unresponsive in his den when the Birmingham Fire Department responded to Bryant’s home located at the 1600 block of Pleasant Grove Road on reports of a residential fire.
Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Birmingham Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire, and the Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
