According to the Trussville Police Department, officers were dispatched to Pinnacle Bank for an ATM alarm and observed a white Ford F-250 Diesel truck backed into the drive-thru of the ATM area of the bank.
The officer’s noticed that the driver’s side door was open and the engine was still running. Behind the truck, officers located the ATM pulled from its concrete base, face down, with the bottom facing the back of the bank and the top facing 290 Calumet Parkway.
A bright yellow heavy-duty tow strap was connected under the bumper, and the other end was attached to tow hooks wrapped around the ATM. The ATM was approximately 25 feet from the center of the concrete island it was initially bolted to.
A perimeter search was located, and fresh footprints were discovered near the backside of Pinnacle Bank. A K9 unit responded to the scene and began tracking the scent; “however, the scent trail stopped, and the K9 was unable to regain a scent trail, indicating the suspect(s) left in another vehicle.”
The Executive Vice President of Pinnacle Bank was notified of the incident, visually inspected the ATM, and reported that the safe, along with an unknown amount of money, was still secured inside the ATM. The total amount of damages to the property was $90,000.
The white Ford F-250 Diesel truck was registered to Seals Welding Fabricating Inc., and when Seals Welding was notified about the incident, they responded stating the “Ford F-250 was at Diesel South Repair Shop, located at 3551 Vann Road in Birmingham for about a month being repaired.”
Diesel South Repair is approximately one mile from Pinnacle Bank. Officers then visually inspected the locks on all the vehicles at Diesel South Repair for any damage and did not find any of the vehicles tampered with.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the recovery of an unreported stolen F-250, stolen from Diesel South in their jurisdiction
