BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death of a man found dead in the front seat of a vehicle just before 11 a.m. on Friday, October 29.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, North Precinct officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of 17th Avenue North on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene and observed a male slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the male dead.
The preliminary investigation suggests that an argument took place between the victim and a separate male prior to shots being fired. While on the scene, officers took a suspect into custody for questioning. That individual was transported to the Birmingham Police Headquarters to be questioned by homicide detectives.
