A 34-year-old Birmingham man who was shot to death during an altercation on Friday, October 29, 2021, has been identified.
Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated Justin Rasha Lee, 34, was pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m. on Friday. Lee had been shot at a location on the 2700 block of 17 Avenue North, Birmingham, and his death remains under investigation.
“The decedent sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault,” Yates stated. “The death is being investigated as a homicide therefore, all questions regarding the circumstances surrounding the death should be made to the Birmingham Police Department.”
Lee was the second man to die by gunfire in less than an hour on Friday in the Metro Birmingham area.
