BIRMINGHAM — A Center Point man died Sunday, October 31, 2021 as a result of a one-vehicle accident the previous day.
Clay Austin Saab, 32, died after the Chevy Avalanche he was driving went off the road in a curve on the 2400 block of Reed Road in Center Point, Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates reported.
Saab was transported to UAB Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 5:24 a.m. on October 31.
Saab “lost control of his vehicle in a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the road and strike a utility pole,” Yates stated. “The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.”
The accident happened around 12:07 p.m. Saturday, and Yates stated that Saab was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.
