TRUSSVILLE — The new Springville Area Rotary Satellite Club has selected its first Students and Teacher of the Month.
Molly Graben is a senior at Springville High School (SHS). Graben serves as varsity girls cheer captain and varsity girls tennis captain. She is also Student Council President and is a First Priority Leader. She is involved in Key Club, Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), and Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). She is part of the Youth Leadership Development Program in Birmingham, and she serves on the Springville Public Library’s Teen Advisory Board. In addition, she is actively involved in the student ministry at Crosspoint Baptist Church. Graben plans to attend Jacksonville State University to pursue a degree in nursing and hopes to one day see the world as a travel nurse.
Caden Mobley is on the Springville High School golf team and serves as the varsity boys golf team captain. He is involved in Key Club and Beta Club. He plays with the praise band at Faith Community Fellowship and is involved in the student ministry. Mobley’s favorite subject is history because he thinks it is interesting and enjoys learning about the past. Mobley plans to attend Auburn University to pursue a degree in business management.
Each of these students has selected Roxanne Saffles as their Teacher of the Month recipient. Saffles teaches Algebra 2, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus at SHS.
“Mrs. Saffles goes out of her way to teach and to help every student,” Graben said. “She is very patient in answering all my questions about statistics, and her hard work in the classroom is evident by the way her students are successful in her class. Mrs. Saffles also lets my friends and me work on a puzzle of the Empire State Building occasionally, and she always has candy!”
Mobley selected Saffles because of her outgoing personality that makes learning extremely easy and fun. She is always helpful and is extremely patient with her students. #Rotary6860 #ServiceAboveSelf
